Mongolian spots or congenital dermal melanocytosis are flat, slate grey or blue birthmarks usually located on the lower back and buttocks. These are usually present at birth, although can appear in the first few weeks of life. There may be one or several patches on the baby's skin.

Nappy rash or nappy dermatitis is a condition that leads to skin irritation, redness and soreness over the buttocks and surrounding area covered by a nappy or diaper.

Papular urticaria also known as “insect bite hypersensitivity” is an allergic reaction of the skin to bites from insects,  particularly bed bugs, mosquitoes, fleas, mites or midges. These bites can cause red, itchy, swollen and even blistering bumps on the skin that can last from days to weeks. 

Pityriasis rosea is a common rash that usually affects older children and young adults. It usually begins with a ‘herald’ patch on the skin.

Pityriasis alba is a common, harmless skin condition which is commonly found in children and teenagers. It is more noticeable among children who have darker skin.

Capillary malformations are permanent pink-red or purple flat birthmarks that can occur on any part of a baby's body (e.g. scalp, face, neck, arms and legs). They are present from birth and tend to grow proportionally as your child grows and often become darker over time.

Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes small patches of red, thickened and flaky skin. While the rash may be noticeable, it is not generally itchy or painful. Psoriasis is a common condition, and there are many treatments available.

Seborrheic Dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes itchy, flaky and possibly red skin usually around the scalp, face, neck, nappy area, and skin folds. It is also known as cradle cap.

Spitz naevus is a rare non-cancerous mole that usually appears during childhood. When looked at under a microscope, the cells have some similar features to melanoma.
